There are many summer programs that are available for students too numerous to list here.  Additional information on summer programs is available in the counseling office.  Please see your school counselor if you are interested in a summer program.

BEST Program (Bradley University)

The BEST Research Internship program is designed to provide high school students, undergraduates with hands-on experience in scientific research.  These students, undergraduates will be placed in research labs in the Peoria area for full- or part-time internships, to be completed during a 10-week period from June 7-August 13, 2010.

THE STEM Program (Bradley University)

Bradley University offers a comprehensive program designed to expand the enrollment of academically talented but economically challenged students majoring in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science, computer informational systems or civil engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology or environmental studies (Bradley University’s STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics majors).  The objective of the program is to increase the number of diverse graduates in these important fields by strongly supporting scholars, both academically and financially throughout their challenging college studies.

American Cancer Society Summer Research Program

The American Cancer Society, Illinois Division offers an integratedSummer Research Program designed for high school students in their junior year (Class of 2011). The major objective of the program is to introduce students to scientific research, specifically cancer research, to promote career opportunities in the area of cancer, through a program supervised by the American Cancer Society, Illinois Division’s Research Advisory Committee. This program will help students develop their own philosophy in biophysics, biochemistry, immunology, and pharmacology, as well as gain an understanding of cancer and its impact on Illinois residents.
